We're trying to use the API to return a list of events based on category. So on the sports page we list sports events and on concerts we list concerts. However the API doesn't return the category in the results.

Take a look at

http://www.stubtv.com/ticketsell/core/test1.php

You'll see the category field is empty.

Is there any other way to sort events by their categories?

  Your example looks like you are doing a search() to get the results. Are you trying to sort/group those search results by category or are you trying to list events that belong to a category?

   

  If you want to list events that belong to a category you should do:

  $options = array(
  
      'category_id' => $specificCategoryId,
  
  );

  $tevo = new Ticketevolution_Webservice();
  
  $results = $tevo->listEvents($options);

  Awesome that solution worked - thank you sir. One more question...

  Right now we're specifying one category - for example - category_id => 1,

  Is there a way to search multiple categories in ONE query?  There are about 50 categories somehow related to 'sports' in general and running 50 unique queries would slow down the page load time a lot.

  It is not currently possible (that I know of) to query multiple categories at once.

   

  If you are building "Category" landing pages I would suggest displaying performers in that category as well as sub-categories with a link to the sub-category landing page. That would be better for SEO anyways and would also trim down the number of links on any one page.

   

  Alternatively, you could use the data-loaders in the PHP Library package to cache all the data locally and instead query your local database table for the combination of categories. FWIW, I recommend caching the data locally anyways.
